George Walker Bush was the 43rd President of the United States. He served as the President from 2001 to 2009. Prior to that, he was the Governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000. He was born on July 6, 1946.

Bush is the first child of President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush. George Bush Sr. was the 41st President of the United States. Bush is one of the only two American presidents who were sons of previous Presidents. He graduated from Yale University in 1968, after which he did his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1975. After finishing his studies, Bush worked in his family's oil businesses. He ran for the House of Representatives soon after his marriage to Laura Welch in 1977. However, he was not successful in his attempt. He later co-owned the Texas Rangers baseball team. He then reentered politics by defeating Ann Richards in the 1994 Texas gubernatorial election. He contested the Presidential election in 2000 as the Republican candidate and won the closely contested election. His win was controversial as he received a majority of electoral votes though he lost the popular vote to Al Gore the then Vice President.
